I have black hair. I used to use blonde box dye years ago and the lightest color my hair would get was a medium brown. I left this stuff on for 30 minutes without checking. When I took my plastic cap off I was very surprised at how light my hair had turned. I did not follow the exact directions. If I had my roots would not have been lighter than the rest of my hair. The instructions say to apply the hair dye to the bottom half of your hair and then apply the dye to the roots during the last 10 minutes of processing. I also did not do the strand test as the instructions recommended. If I had I would have known how long it would take to get my hair light brown which is the color I wanted. As for the orange color, I added half a bottle of Red Gold Color Corrector to the hair dye and washed my hair with a purple shampoo afterwards but it did nothing.
I’m so glad to be able to get born blonde again.its always have been my favorite Because it lightens my hair to pale yellow to accept silver blonde toners. It also doesn’t burn my scalp. The delivery was super fast. Two days early! It was packed well.As long as this company sells Born Blonde, they have a steady customer.😊
Have used Clairol hair color for years Used to be a P&G product. Then sold to a competitor, then Wella, then a few others. There is a difference in quality and color outcome and conditioners. Also, the plastic gloves vary between manufacturers. Look at the back bottom to see who made it, also the front panel shows a different model with the hair color shade by each different owner. It makes a difference in your quality of color AND conditioner. It's very hard to find "Golden shades".

Upon opening the bottle on Aug. 21, 2024, I noticed that it was the older packaging. Also, the bottle of lightener was way darker than usual. I called Clairol to check on the lot number and sure enough it was almost 2 years out of date! It was manufactured on 11/21/2019 with a 3 year shelf life. Clairol recommended that I don't use the product. Now I know why they don't't take returns. Caveat emptor!
I learned that the first number of the lot number is the last numeral of the year it was manufactured. This lot number started with a 9 for 2019.
This Hair bleach arrived promptly ,I used this Born Blond on my dark roots and the results are amazing . After 20 minutes my roots went from dark to very light . A fantastic result indeed . I need to purchase again for the next time .Thanks again Amazon for the swift result .
I have medium coloured brown hair but when trying to lighten it blondes have just made it go lighter with a tint of ginger. This product made it go a gorgeous shade of blonde after the first use! I left the product on for the full 90 minutes and got fantastic results! Amazing product and would definitely recommend!
