Four stars because I think it's pretty scumbaggy to send out full size "samples" to get five star reviews. If every single review did not have this at the end, maybe I would have given it five stars. Anyway, I was immediately put off by all the negative reviews, I did not look through them before I bought this because.. How can you go wrong with oil? We have also purchased Tea Tree oil from this company with no problems. I did some researching, good quality Argan oil will have a scent, I'm sure this can depend on brands, the smell should go away pretty quickly if it's good. I also want to point out that if it is different for brands, CULINARY grade Argan oil will smell very nutty and delicious; I don't think this is culinary grade, just regular cosmetic grade oil, otherwise I would have searched for cooking oil specifically. It will have sediment and/or appear foggy, it will be a light golden color, it will not be sticky or watery, it should be silky and... Oily I guess. It should quickly absorb and have no real after-feel. This is my first experience with Argan oil! The bottle was nicely packaged in its own box, and the bottle sealed. Great! I was nervous to open it, given all the rancid reviews. When I smelt it, I had to put my nose nearly IN the opening to smell it. It did not "hit" me, it didn't smell bad, it smells sort of like a faint menthol mixed with forest. I don't find it offending at all. The color is a light golden. Holding it up to the light shows that it is foggy inside the bottle. I tried a drop in my palms, rubbed it in once and it was very matte feeling and could smell it just the same (I had to get my nose nearly against my hand). I rubbed my palms together for about a minute maybe longer, the smell began to go away, which is what it should do, as far as I know. 5-10 minutes now (didn't keep track) and there is no smell and it doesn't even feel like I put any oil on. There's no residue at all or smell. So I am please with this Argan oil. Being my first experience it probably isn't the most high quality, but as far as I can tell it is very decent, and is a great bargain. The real test will be if it does show results, and if it does then this stuff is as good as high quality oil!

I've been using argan oil on my face for a few years now and I love it. I live in Colorado and it's very dry so I finally resorted to putting straight oil on my skin because the regular moisturizers weren't cutting it anymore. Of course, I started with a much more expensive argan oil so I was careful about how much I used. However, this oil is just as good and seems to be exactly the same as the expensive Josie Maran brand I used to buy -- which was about $70 a bottle instead of $10. Seriously, it feels the same, works the same, and even smells the same -- just slightly nutty. Maybe it's just become easier to get this oil, but I would absolutely recommend this one, especially for the price. Now I can use it on other parts of my body without worrying about running out and not being able to afford another bottle. It works great on cuticles, dry hands, feet, and also hair -- although only use a tiny bit on your hair because it can make your hair look oily if you overdo it. Start with the ends and work up.

This oil has been a lifesaver for my skin and doesn't make it feel oily and doesn't make it shiny. If you have dry skin, it will soak this oil right up and be oh so happy. I do give it a few minutes for the skin to really absorb it before putting on any other moisturizers (you still want a sunscreen) or make-up. I use a light-weight moisturizer with sunscreen over this, but I use just the oil at night, along with an eye cream. You can try this around your eyes but everyone is different and some people are more sensitive to oils around the eyes. It doesn't bother me at all, but then I've been using for a long time.

For the price, you can't go wrong. Give this a try -- you'll love it and wonder how you ever lived without it.

This bottle is HUGE! and the glass is very dark so the oil is protected from UV and artificial lighting, which can degrade it over time. I use argan oil in my hair color mixture, about two teaspoons to 2 ounces of color/developer, and it provides additional conditioning but doesn't affect the color outcome at all. My stylist taught me this trick and I've done this for years. Argan oil works the best for this, although I have tried coconut oil too (it doesn't mix in as well). I also use this oil on the ends of my hair when I use a hydrating mask. This provides optimum conditioning and when used with heat, there is simply nothing better. I also use this oil to moisturize my hands and cuticles. My skin is sensitive so I haven't tried using it on my face, but I regularly use it to nourish and hydrate my feet. I've found myriad uses for this oil since discovering it many years ago. I initially purchased Josie Maran's version, which sells for $45 for a 1 or 2 ounce bottle. This product looks, feels and behaves exactly the same. It even smells the same and it's organic and cold pressed (the best method for extracting the oil). I hope I'll be able to use the bottle before its shelf life expires, but at $10, I'm not too worried about it. I feel like I've scored an incredible beauty bargain, lol! The only complaint I have is that I wish this came with a pump dispenser, but I'll live with the dropper. No big deal. For some, the anti inflammatory properties of this oil means that it's good for the skin, especially those with acne. Yes, it seems counter-intuitive to use oil for oily skin, however, using this oil can actually make oily skin less oily!! Go figure. Google it if you don't believe me. My neck is not as sensitive as my face, so I'll use this oil as a moisturizer at night for that area at least. But my main reason for buying this product is to use with my hair color. When used this way, it keeps my hair soft and shiny and it helps mitigate some of the damage from the peroxide. I highly recommend this brand of argan oil. You get the pure product and a large size for a little bit of money. What could be better? Maybe I should have ordered two. Hmmm.
