This is still the best lightweight flexible hold hairspray I have ever found. I've been using it since it came to the states and while I try other new ones from time to time, I always come back to this. I have fine shoulder length hair that just needs a little control, without anything weighing it down or making it sticky. This works wonderfully to keep my long bangs and face-framing layers in place and just give the overall shape of the style a little setting power. It does not weigh hair down, it doesn't make it sticky, it doesn't make it look greasy or dry . . . it just works and it doesn't take much product either. I have other sprays I use sometimes that are cheaper, but I use 3 times the product to achieve the same result, so I actually feel this works out to be a better value overall and I don't have to replace it nearly so often.

I want to say first that this is the first hairspray I've used in my entire life that doesn't have that weird, new carpet chemical smell. Yes, I disagree with some of the reviewers on this. Things like this can be pretty subjective, but this one has a powdery scent that is actually pleasant.

It's not crunchy. My hair doesn't look sprayed, simonized and stuck together.

And it holds. It arrived today, I tried it out, and then did some yard work. Afterwards, I walked to the store. Temps are in the 90's here and it's humid and soupy. I'm a total wreck now. But my hair is still good!

The only drawback is that it's not cruelty free. But then, a lot of cruelty free products (with some exceptions) seem to be geared to "natural" types who aren't really into hair or makeup. I wish they'd get the message that us girly people oppose animal testing, too.

But all in all, it's a great hairspray. The best available that I've tried.

In my opinion, this is the best hairspray on the market. I had read about it for years and knew it was a favorite of models and available only in Europe. So, I was thrilled when it became available here a few years ago. I have been using it ever since with superior results. It can be hard to find (Target carries but they are frequently out) and it is not cheap. It IS worth it however. One tip: The "strong hold" label is misleading. The formula is actually not very strong at all and leaves the hair quite soft and natural looking. I actually have both the Strong and Extra Strong in my arsenal and I use both everyday, on different parts of my hair. The best part is that is does not ever seem to build up. No matter how much you touch up, you don't get that crumbly "dust" like with other products. Good stuff!

A little word of advice here: if you are looking for a product that holds your hair do, this is the one. But, if you are looking for a product with no fragrance, I would suggest you go for the unscented one. However, the fragrance is not the issue here and I have no clue as to why is it so much of a big deal to everyone. It has a decent smell and the mist dissolves so quickly as if it was never there. The hair hold is pretty strong and I have very voluminous hair. Just go for it. You are worth it:)

The headline above says it all. The hairspray holds your hairstyle without feeling stiff and the product brushes out easily. The fragrance used to be very nice. Not so much anymore. I debated whether to give the fragrance two or three stars. Two is probably more accurate. Two stars for the fragrance and 5 stars for the hair spray quality. Except for the fragrance the Strong Hold is still the same. A hairdresser has told me that my hair is very fine but not thin. (as opposed to coarse and thick) I can't imagine needing a stronger hold.
